About the Up For Poker Blog

The Up For Poker blog sprang from the mind of a man now known as The Luckbox in 2003 as a place to publish his poker exploits away from his now defunct personal blog Up For Anything. In a short period of time, he'd put together a collection of writers and poker players to fill these ethereal pages.

Over time, that group of people has distilled to a core crew of three writers: Luckbox, Otis, and G-Rob. Luckbox is the lucky one. Otis is the lovable loser. G-Rob is the confident one with the good hair. Together, they tell tales of folding full houses on the river and then screaming like a little girl, luckboxing their way to underserved poker tournament wins, and supplementing their poker losses with uncanny skill at the Pai Gow Poker tables.

And in 2009, the site evolved. It moved to its new permanent home and expanded to include stories about more than just poker. From casino gambling to horse racing, from sports to movies, from television to music. Anything and everything.
